28/02/16 - Production Studio (Cinematic) - Script
Uploading my script idea here because I don't really know where to post it?
1
EXT: IN PARK
PANS DOWN FROM SKY TO PARK
CLOSE UP: TO 2D MAN SITTING ON BENCH FEEDING BIRDS
2D MAN: i sure love birds and not being around spiders with top hats. But my worst fear is being a real boy.
CLOSE UP: TO BENCH WHERE A LIVE ACTION MAN HAS APPEARED
LIFE ACTION-MAN: I LURVE BURDS TOO MATEY
CLOSE UP: OF 2D MANS HAND AS LIVE-ACTION MAN BITES IT
2D MAN: Ahhhhhhh!
CLOSE UP: 2D MANS HAND AS IT TURNS FROM 2D TO 3D TO REAL LIFE
2D MAN: Ahhh my worst fear realised! If only I could of seen this coming! It's like some kind of cosmic force had to write a script and I'm the main character!
LIVE ACTION-MAN: Why howdy thure fellow person, why you complaining pardner there is more important things to worry about like that!
MAN POINTS TO A GIANT SPIDER WEARING A TOP HAT
SPIDER: Howdy!
2D MAN: AHHHHHHHH
FADES TO BLACK
I've never really done a script before so this is all new to me.

26/02/16 - Production Studio (Cinematic) - Story Concepts
So Uni started again so back to doing this.
So for this assignment we have to come up with a script for a story that's a mash up of genres. One animated character has to be in it.
Genres I like are
- Horror
- Adventure
- Action
- Fantasy
- Sci - fi
- Comedy
They all lend themselves to having animated characters alongside real life ones. I came up with two story ideas one by myself and one in the group thing I did with Patrick on Monday
- A person finds out his best mate is in fact a bunch of space cats wearing a coat and mask all along
- A 2D man gets bit by a live action man and turns into a live action man himself only to find out both his worst fears have come to life and there is a giant spider sitting next to him.
I like the 2nd one more and I have been writing out the script for Monday.

Finished Animation and Rationale - 13/11/10
Final animation
Another year down! Whoot? Anyway my first fully 3D animation is finally finished and I'm kind of proud of it. It is no where near perfect but I like it anyhow.
My character has not changed much from my original design. I did get rid of his pocket and after some feedback I decided to remove his mouth and make him use his goatie as his tongue to lick the planet as this would make him feel more alien.
My updated design
For the storyboards I did not change much in the final animation just some camera movements and the way the planets move when hit by the bowled planet.
The model came out better then I had hoped it would as I did not think I would do a very good job. I kind of shocked myself with that.
The building process I did struggle with at the start as I found it a bit hard to follow along with the classes but I eventually got the hang of it. Working with the vectors I found the hardest part especially joining them which is meant to be a easy step to do but for some reason I did not find it that easy.
His rigging went a bit wrong in certain parts. His left hands fingers don't work right especially his thumb it is all wonky. His right hand is better but not by a large margin. These did not really show themselves to me until I started to animate them. His goatie could of been done better but I think it works for what it is meant to do.
Painting and making controls went the same way as everything else did. I struggled at first but I got the hang of it. I did find making the controls the hardest part of the whole process as things never seemed to work out the way I had envisioned it would.
The animation process was not that overly enjoyable to me. I did not feel like I had as much freedom as I do when animating in 2D. It did not grasp my attention as 2D did I'm sure If I spent more time doing it I would start to enjoy it more.
What did I come out of this course with? I think the design process was more enjoyable then the animation process apart from rigging but that's just practice I think. My grasp of Maya is not the best and I struggled a lot but my knowledge of the animation principles and my years of 2D animation work I think helped me a lot in this course.
My work is not perfect but I did not expect my first time to be and I know I struggled a lot and I did do some major mistakes with things but that is what happens when you learn and that's why I came back to do this course to learn.
I am proud of my work and next year I aim to do better.
Rationale
Another year down! Whoot? Anyway my first fully 3D animation is finally finished and I'm kind of proud of it. It is no where near perfect but I like it anyhow.
For my animation I decided to turn The
Big Lebowski clip from a comedy into a sci-fi scene. The idea I had
was that in the scene and alien would be bowling with planets instead
of bowling balls. I
made my character lanky to resemble the
character Jesus from The Big Lebowski clip. I thought giving him
Jesus's purple track suit it would make him tie into the character
and also make him look alien as well.
Here is my original concept
